Much like the recent storm tore through the northern region the prior day, City blew United away at the Etihad. It was a statement 3-0 victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their leadership claims as they consolidated their place at the top of the table.

Successive Defeats for Manchester United

This result marked successive league defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, placing them seven points off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions in serious doubt.

Manchester United's capacity to balance domestic and European soccer with a small team has been a frequently analyzed subject since they secured entry to the European competition.
